This special school follows the oral-aural method of teaching. It imparts education to all hearing impaired students in Hindi as well in Marathi medium. It aims at integrating the maximum number of students in normal schools. Its trained teachers are working sincerely for transformation of students’ life from silence to sound to bring smile on their face.

The school has a well-equipped computer center attached to it right from its inception in the year 1987. Recently, twenty brand new PCs are added to the center together with high speed Internet connectivity. The students are given an exclusive training on how to use the computer for different works. And they are also given an exposure to the world of Internet. Apart from this, every classroom has got a PC which the teachers use for demonstrating the lessons. This not only creates an interest in the students but also makes the concepts easy to understand.

The school has got a suitable Audiological and Speech set-up outfitted with the latest technological aids like Digital Audiometer with Amplifier and Speakers, Hearing Aid Analyser and speech assessment softwares like Vaghmi and Doctor Speech.

Hearing Assessment, Hearing Aid Trials, Hearing Aid Analyis and Speech Therapy are regularly carried out in this center by professionally qualified Audiologists and Speech Therapists.

In our school, the children have a facility to get their ear mould made at reasonable cost. The repairing of hearing aids is also done in the laboratory. In addition, Hearing Aid Batteries and Cords are made available at subsidised rates.

It is a kind of specially designed auditorium having Group Amplification System with a capacity for 40 students. Having known the fact that hearing impaired students learn faster with visual clues along with auditory clues, all kind of equipments like Television, Tape Recorders, Over Head Projector, LCD Projector, CD/DVD Player, Audio Video cassettes, CD ROMs, DVDs etc. are available in this auditorium for students instant access.

Physicians, Pediatricians, ENT Surgeons, Dentists and Ophthalmologists carry our regular medical check-ups in the school. Individual heath record of each child is maintained and updated.

Due to some reasons like late intervention, intellectual limitations, additional handicaps, etc. some students are unable to continue their studies in higher classes. Therefore the school has started providing pre-vocational education to its students. Training is imparted in various fields like screen printing, book binding, embroidery, chalk making, stitching, knitting, pot painting etc to enable the students to be self-reliant.

The best thing one can give to one’s child is Time, and therefore parents are involved in the education process of the child. The co-ordination and communication between parents and teachers is necessary to bring better result in learning process of students. Here educational and vocational guidance is given to the parents based on their child’s performance. Parents and teachers together can play a very important role in the process of education, training and rehabilitation of the child.

As most of its special children are from economically backward strata of the society, the school provides nutritious refreshment to them regularly.

There is a lack of books for the pre-primary hearing handicapped students showing suitable visuals and proper level of language. The talented and resourceful teachers of the school have realized the need and taken initiative to write suitable books and to prepare educational kits. The publication division of the school has been publishing such books since its inception. Many students across the country are taking benefits of these publications.

In school most of the parents come from very low socio-economic environment. In the process of learning of the hearing impaired child, the home environment and parents role is very important. The hearing handicapped child requires constant revision of the lesson taught at school, and for this the parents have to be literate. Therefore the school conducts the adult literacy classes.

Apart from the above-mentioned facilities, we have a Playground and a well-equipped library facility, which our students are using for the all-round development of their personalities.
